My guess is this place has been talked about before on this joint, but I was watching the CVS highlights last night on TGC and this place looked pretty cool.

Can anyone give me info. If I remember, I believe I heard Faxon once say that it is a Ross course.

I saw one neat brief aerial shot.

Thanks, in advance.

Tony,

I watched a few minutes last night, thought what I saw looked interesting (didn't see the aerial), but didn't know what course they were on.  I then guessed it might have been an AOTD course due to seeing the water in the background.  Sure enough, RICC (not CCRI) was AOTD #388 (Faxon's home course grwoing up):

Scott - Thanks. Sorry I got the name of the course wrong.   8)

Anyone played here? There appears to be a neat hole there with a centerline bunker complex, but heavy on the trees on that same hole as well.  ::)

I would say, Scott, the brief aerial I saw (with water in view) was what appeared to be the short 17th, the 16th and the home hole. Those last four on the other side of the entrance road, look like neat holes from you pic.

Thanks again.

It's wonderful.
It is an old Ross - The greens are subtle, deceiving, challenging in a classic course way.
I was told Nicklaus had surveryors out to shoot #3 and he tried to emulate at one of his designs(forget which one).

They are doing some major work in the next year w/ the US govt. to remove a non-native wetlands grass that invaded some of their ponds.  That will reclaim some of the openness.

Anyone played here?

Tony:
Several times.  It is a terrific golf course.  Excellent green complexes, subtle breaks, Several excellent holes along the water and great challenge at all levels of the game.
Best

I believe it was the home course of the late GolfClubAtlas.com participant Dick Ceszana.

Sarge,

Maybe Dick was also a member at RICC, but the club he talked about most was Metacomet.  In fact, I met a member of Metacomet at my home course in NC (of all places) a few years back, and he knew Dick.

I do recall Dick was a member at metacomet, but i recall speaking with him about Brad Faxon and his Dad and they were all members at RICC. I could be mistaken.
