A big part of the early US Open buzz this year is the fast and firm conditions at Olympic, which should only become more pronounced if we get the dry week ahead that's been promised.
Obviously, conditions vary greatly at any major, as rain or drought can wreak havoc. But given a tournament's "ideal" conditions, which major championship does the best job on course conditioning? Do you prefer the fast, green presentation of a mostly rough-free Augusta? The lightning fast greens and firm fairways with punishing rough of a US Open? Or the width, severe firmness, and wispy roughs of the Open Championship?
Also, if anyone can define typical PGA Championship conditions as anything other than a US Open imitation, I'll happily accept that tournament as a possible answer.
