Am I supposed to be embarrassed about using this?
Mine is left handed 12 degrees. I call it my age appropriate driver.
If so, then Kalen needs to be embarrassed by getting beaten by it. ;)
Jordan Wall seems to be embarrassed by being seen with me while playing it.
My company blocks access to their company website for pornographic content so I guess they are embarrassed by me too.

But Matthew, it's a babe magnet. I can't tell you how many women have told me it was a beautiful club.

Tim,

I haven't noticed any sun glare off it.
The club has been played in the Masters (not by me obviously). ;)

One good story I read on this website was a member that flew across the pond and immediately teed it up with a caddie on an links course. Got off to a bit of a rough start, not being warmed up and all,  but about the 4th hole hit a good drive on a par 5 and then hit a 9 wood close for an eagle chance. He remarked to the caddy, "I bet you don't see many 9 wood shots like that!" The caddy replied, "Only from the ladies sir, only from the ladies."

I must confess I also have the mellow yellow 7 and 9 woods in my bag.
I also have an 11 wood waiting to be built. ;)

Garland-Its obvious that the 11 wood would have to be ordered and built as those things don`t stay on the shelf long. ;D I know it was out of stock in the latest Nevada Bob`s catalog due to popular demand.

I used a Tommy Armour T100 2-iron with a graphite shaft for a couple years, including a trip to Scotland in 1999.

The thing had a face the size of tee box.  Felt normal when you hit it on the sweet spot, felt like an aluminum bat off the fists when you didn't....a horrible club choice, never hit it well.

I also used a bubble shafted supersteel 3-wood from 2000-2006, and I could kill it, and I have struggled to find a better one since.

My first great sand wedge was a Wilson club called "The Mojave" with the name in orange on the cavity, and I bought it at Wal-Mart when I was 15!
So I jump ship in Hong Kong....

Richard offered it to me when we played McBride and Perches at KP last year. I refused. A man has to preserve his pride you know.

When I bought my first set of irons, the sand wedge was way to chunky and had way too much bounce to hit a shot off even the best fairway lies. I solved this problem one day while in ny grandparents house when I foumd an old Slazenger Perfect Lady sand wedge(circa 1980). As I was only 11 and with the club being an inch shorter, having a thinner grip and and being lighter than normal it suited me perfectly. I used it for 2 years and stil have the club. I'm contemplating getting it framed ;D ;D

The Alien, what else?

To tie this in with the on-going caddy thread, when walking to the first tee at Pine Valley, the famous caddy, Rocky, picked up one of the bags in our group (which belonged to one of my partners -- who shall remain nameless).  He looks in the bag, and yells out something like this:

"What the f@#%, - an alien?  You gotta be frickin kiddin me pro.  I can't carry for this guy."

To make matters worse, my colleague then hit a pop up shank off the first tee (requiring Rocky to yell "fore on the putting green").  Great start to an unforgettable round and afternoon.  The nerves are a bit unsettling on that tee.

My last couple of years in college I actually had not one but two ladies clubs in the bag.
1. Spalding Sandra Haynie sand wedge - huge bounce, shaft as thick as a no. 2 pencil... pure magic with that thing back in the day
2. Taylor Made TPA mallet (Ladies version of same putter Faldo won the 1990 Masters with)... powder blue accents and all

Nothing like beating up on a field using ladies clubs. Made for some great conversations (some might say gamesmanship),

I've had a couple of odd clubs.

I had a Callaway Warbird Devine-9, Ping NellI putter, I used a guys Alien for a while. Haven't had anything odd for several years though.

I had the Taylormade 9 wood and could really hit the club. It was a "go to" club of sorts before the explosion of hybrids. Anyway the embarrassing moment for me was at Upper Montclair. I was playing a completely forgetful round and my partner and I where getting trounced on the bet. I think the proper term would be skunked and it was hole 15. I finally get a shot in perfect range for the nine wood and I pull off the shot of the day for me. As I hand it back to the caddie, I say "I bet you don't see many nine woods?" He responds without hesitation "just the ladies, sir."

Well Bill,

I think we have come full circle. I put that "just from the ladies story" on another thread Tim was following, and he started this one.

Whoops. Wrong thread. I was thinking I was looking at the caddy story thread.
