Has anyone played Old Hickory in Woodbridge, VA? Anyone familiar with the architecht Tim Freeland?

My home club is closed for a tournament weekend after next and a group of us are considering giving the new course a try.

Tim Freeland designed a number of courses under the rein of "Gary Player" designs.

I've played TPC Jasna Polana in NJ which is his course, and I believe he had a large role in River Run in MD, as well.  Last year, I played Musket Ridge in MD where Freeland did design work for the late Joe Lee.

Based on those experiences, I wouldn't necessarily run to Old Hickory but I'll be interested to hear a report.

I played Old Hickory last fall. The first few holes/routing were a little quirky. This was partially due to the architect fitting the course into a residential community. The course has many very good holes and was fun to play. The homes on the back nine were not as prevalent as the front nine. I particularly enjoyed several elevated tees. The greens were very interesting with several shelves and numerous cupping positions. I plan to return the summer. The course was relatively new when I played last year so the fairways were a bit thin. I would imagine they are fuller by now.
