Maybe the importance of the Dunes Club is its' position in chronology of the Grand Strand. It is the only possible reason for it to be included on a list of this nature. I cannot help but think that Shinnecock and Royal Dornoch are more important than the Dunes Club and a number of others on the list.

I think Dunes is emblematic of RTJ's style, and therefore it deserves inclusion on the list. It is not the 18 greatest courses in America. Each appears to be selected based on its impact.

I also fail to see why Royal Dornoch would be included in a list of American courses. I imagine you probably would include it b/c of Ross? It hasn't moved from Scotland...has it?

I do not believe that the Old Course listed as # 1 on Mr. Doak's list is in Hoboken.
