Does anybody have any history on some his design efforts?? Or leads to old photos?

Robert,

Sayers made some some modifications on Lanark golf course in Lanarkshire, Scotland.

You will find some info at ;

Glad to see his name raised in these pages.  We need to account for all the early designers, and I'm coming to the conclusion that we see little of Braid or Vardon on this site.  Should they be re-assessed?  What of Butchart, for instance?  Those who know please chip.in your pennethworth.

On a quick flick through the pages of one or two books:

Rothesay (http://www.rothesaygolfclub.com/) (also Braid)
Moffat (www.moffatgolfclub.co.uk)
Dollar (used to be www.dollargolfclub.co.uk - but I couldn'e get it to work) (great fun, idiosyncratic mountainous course)
Canmore (Fife)
The Glen (North Berwick East Links) (also Braid and Ross)
Kilspindie (also Ross)
Spey Bay (www.spebay.com)
Adare Manor (yes, the old one of 1900, not the RTJ hotel course).
Castlerock (fine links on north coast of Ireland not far from Royal Portrush)

Cornish and Whitten mention Broomieknowe but the club says Braid/Hawtree.  There may well be others of which I am ignorant.

His work at Lanark seems to have been to make amendments to Tom Morris's 1897 course, later modified again by Braid.

I've played Canmore 8-10 times, and it is a decent, if short (5900 yard), course.  Nicely routed over a pretty compact and oddly shaped property.  Good variety of types of hole.  Subtle greens.  A particularly good version of the "Spien Kop" hole.  Overall, not much better or worse than MacKenzie's Pitreavie which is 3-4 miles away.

He also appears to have been involved in:
Nairn (as well as Morris and Braid)
Archerfield (the original holes on the estate)
