With the Medinahs and Augustas of the world hitting 7500 yards, how many tour pros would have a chance if the ball rolls back. Now we dont want the length you just spent millions to add.Need driver to 13?

What, they can't move the tees up if the ball gets shorter?

No, now is the time for the competition ball.

I think Medinah proved it.

Many seem to think that there's a need for a competition golf ball to basically reign in the distance spike amongst elite players. But what if a new regulation was instituted on golf ball conformance for all that basically reigned in some of the distance increase of the elite and didn't effect the distance of the rest of us? Do you think that would preclude a call for a competition golf ball?

Not for those who are hell bent on embarassing the USGA at every single turn.

Paul Richards argument that bifurcation already exists, seems to blur the lines between the rules of golf and the playing abilities of golfers. I find the argument as compelling as his analysis of Spanish Bay. ;)

Tom, Your point about not insulting those you wish to influence, is, as usual, right on. Even if, insulting is so much fun.
