It would seem that once the elevation was sufficient to satisfy the drainage issues, any additional elevation would seem to be inefficient from a cost standpoint.

Enter the desire for visibility ???

Once the drainage elevation was achieved, if if was necessary in the first place, it would seem that any additional elevation would be strictly for visibility's sake.

Or, you might have a point regarding the profit margins.

I love how Gil Hanse handled the 1st tee at French Creek - The first tee is really just a part of the fairway!  There isn't a distinct teeing ground at all.

It's very clever and a nice change.

Dan,

Gil also did a nice job of seemlessly blending the tees and fairways at Applebrook as well.

Some emerge from the previous green surrounds.
