Why is America in love with the bush....I have always liked how houses over seas seem to have just turf straight to the walls....why bushes and why here..

I know that everyone here is supposed to know everything
and have been everywhere. But I don't, and haven't, so I
humbly request: Would you mind identifying the clubhouses
in your pictures, gentlemen? Thank you ever so kindly.

Dan,

Don't you know how to 'cheat' and look at the URLs of the pics to find these things out on your own?   8)

Mine were:  Baltusrol, Riviera, Olympia Fields, and Medinah.

Scott --

Yours were the ones I recognized!

I've stopped doing that "Properties" deal here lately, because
every time I do it, I get a "mysticsomethingorother" URL, which
doesn't help.

I see now that it would have worked with three I didn't know:
Merion, Hoylake and Formby.

Steve, they didn't seem to leave any space for landscaping at all, other than the turn around circle.  What the heck to they expect you to do with hiding the air conditioning unit and side service door?  I don't know what is under that deck, but it doesn't look like there is room there either.  Somehow I think you may be relegated to potted plants.  At least you can move them around and arrange them in various order as one sees fit.  Don't they have a committee for that?  The potted plant committee... ::)
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

Well, they were supposed to -- but they misunderstood their mission. They thought they were the "Planted Pot Committee" -- so they did, and now they're in a perpetual haze, less than worthless.

Could explain that air conditioner, eh?

Hasn't changed much in 100 years (maybe the color a few times!)

Yes to lots of planters!  It is my intent to plant the circle in the turn with an elm tree, grass and clusters of day lilies and hostas.  There is a fair amount of space to plant in front of the chiller and the transformer on either side of the entrance.  The reason that these disfigurements are at the West side is for the fact that we have a significant slope on the North and South sides and the South and East have fantastic decks overlooking our vistas.

I will get more pictures soon.

From Sir Bob Huntley,

Here's Tandridge GC.  Has anyone played it?  Notice the thatch roof.
