Gerry - A common trick to play on the unwary and uninitiated is to send the caddy ahead to 15 tee, and direct the tee markers so that they point directly at 16 green, 275+ yards across the pond. Somebody usually makes a little joke, "yup, just another little par 3." Then after the guest pumps a couple into the pond will let them in on the ruse.
A player with whom I am familiar was a steady 6 over through 13 on his first trip to Clementon. He took a big number on 14, and to add insult to injury was made the mark of this particular joke. After the jig was up, he could do no better than bogey on the remaining 4 holes.
