If Lytham challenged, why not Merion??

Those interested in the continuing work at Merion may be interested in some good news...Lord knows I've had my say on the bunkers...

The excellent news is that the trees on the right of 16 (the Quarry Hole) are GONE, completing re-establishing the alternative route to the right for those who choose to not attempt the full quarry carry.

In fact, the clubhouse side of the road is nearly devoid of trees at this point, including the ones on the boundary of Golf Rd.  Good show!

Mike
Not having seen this change, but imagineering it for years, I'm glad you like the "open" look.

Willie,

I recall you mentioning it to us during our day there last year.  The trees behind 14 green and along the left of 15 green are being removed, as well.

I did enjoy the "look" of 16, and the more open look, in general.  You know my thoughts on the other changes.

Looking forward to seeing you at Inniscrone!
